Anesthesia Emergency Manual website is the dissemination of Michael Storm's capstone project as a requirement for his Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) degree.
Michael graduated from Missouri State University School of Anesthesia in May 2016 after fulfilling all the requirements in the DNAP completion program. His capstone project - Emergency Manuals in Anesthesia - Implementation of an Emergency Manual at a Level 1 Trauma Center as a Pilot Project - is the foundation of this website.
Michael was born in Denmark and came to the US in 1990 where he and his wife, Annette, landed in Los Angeles, CA to work as registry nurses for a few years. Then the plan was to go back home, settle, and buy the proverbial house with a yard. Well, sometimes the best laid plans changes, and this plan was no different. They are still here! Michael and Annette moved to Columbia, SC in 2002 for Michael to start anesthesia school, where he graduated with his Master of Nurse Anesthesia (MNA) in 2005. Annette followed in Michael's footstep and graduated as a CRNA herself in 2012.
Outside his primary job Michael owns Storm Anesthesia, a small nurse anesthesia-focussed educational business. They teach a review course to nurse anesthesia students in preparation for the final National Certification Exam (NCE). Michael also has written two nurse anesthesia textbooks: Physics and Chemistry for Nurse Anesthesia and Regional Anesthesia for Nurse Anesthesia, along with a small handbook for anesthesia students Short 'n Sweet Anesthesia Tips. These books are only available from the Storm Anesthesia website.
